Financial Overview 2007
The Henry M. Jackson Foundation is a public charity. It had total assests of $22.3 million as of fiscal year end 2007, built over the years by private contributions from donors and a generous Congressional appropriation. The chart below shows the total assets and liabilities of the Foundation since 2003.

The Foundation generated total income as of September 30, 2007, of $3.2 million, largely due to investment return (Figure 2). Contributions from private donors also added to the Foundation’s income and are greatly valued.
Expenses for fiscal year 2007 are consistent with the budget and with nonprofit and foundation standards nationally (Figure 3). Total expenses of $1.3 million represent grantmaking and program activities, as well as all operating and fundraising expenses. The Foundation’s financial statements are audited on an annual basis by independent auditors. Copies of the annual audit are available from the Foundation upon request.
